Personal Review: The Free-Cut Hipster by SELENACARE
Wearing comfort: made for days when everything feels a bit too much
Right when putting it on, one thing stands out: the Free-Cut Hipster fits exceptionally comfortably. No waistband, no seams, nothing that digs in or shows. The fabric feels soft and smooth, adapts flexibly to your body – and is so stretchy that it wears comfortably across two sizes.
Whether in everyday life, at yoga, in the library or on a walk – the brief stays invisible and moves with you. I felt comfortable and free all day – even though I was on my period.
Especially under tight clothing or during sport, it was a huge advantage for me that nothing shows and nothing slips. I didn't have to constantly think about the fact that I was menstruating – that alone made my everyday life so much easier.
Protection: suitable for heavier days too – with a little extra security at the start
I wore the Heavy Flow version – on one of my heaviest days. And I was positively surprised: the protection was reliable, even after several hours. No leaking, no feeling of wetness, no stress. I didn't have to constantly wonder whether everything was still "in place" – and that's a real plus.
Still, on the first day I additionally wore a period disc, simply because I couldn't yet estimate my flow precisely and preferred to play it safe. Looking back, I think: it would have worked without it. But the extra feeling of security was reassuring for me on day 1.
From day 3, when the bleeding had eased, I wore the Free-Cut Hipster on its own – and that worked without any problems. It protected reliably and felt absolutely unobtrusive.
For medium days, by the way, there's also a brief version with slightly less absorbency – just as soft, just as secure and just as comfortable.
But: period underwear isn't for everyone
Let's be honest: you have to be the type for it. Because, like with classic pads, the blood flows directly into the absorbent layer. For many people that's completely fine – but if you feel more comfortable when the blood is collected inside the body, you might be better off with a menstrual cup or a period disc.

As with all our models, the integrated suction surface is discreetly and invisibly incorporated into the period panty. The menstrual underwear absorbs up to 25 ml of fluid. With its low-slung leg and medium waist, it hugs your body perfectly and gives a feeling of security. Light, medium or heavy days The strength of your period can vary throughout your cycle. Care: easy once you've done it
After wearing, I rinse the brief with cold water and then wash it at 30–40 °C in the machine, ideally in a laundry net. No fabric softener, no vinegar, no bleach – that way the absorbency is preserved.
Then I let it air dry. That takes a little while, but the care fits easily into everyday life – especially if you have two or three briefs in rotation.

My verdict: Free-Cut Hipster
The Free-Cut Hipster really won me over. It's so comfortable that I barely notice it in everyday life – and at the same time it gives me the secure feeling of being well protected. I didn't have to constantly deal with my period and could simply focus on my day.
What impressed me most was how unobtrusive it is – in how it feels just as much as under clothing. And that was exactly my aha moment:
"I had my period – and almost forgot about it."
For me, that's exactly what I want from a period product: security, comfort and ease – without effort, without compromise.
